\n\u201cThe Black Book<\/strong>\u201d is the new project by\u00a0Caff\u00e8 Moak.<\/a>\u00a0The company has always \u00a0been proven to have a close relation to culture (it has been promoting the national writing contest Caff\u00e8 Letterario<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for almost twenty years now). <\/strong>A first preview of The Black Book\u00a0will be presented at Taobuk<\/a> \u2013 <\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Taormina International Book Festival \u2013 held from June 21st\u00a0<\/sup>to 25th.<\/sup><\/span><\/b><\/strong>\u00a0Moak has been partner of the festival in the last four editions.<\/p>\n

<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\nThis idea for the project <\/span>\u2013 by\u00a0<\/span>for[me]moak<\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 arose from the <\/span>invitation to stop seeing things just all white or black<\/span><\/b>, and rather see them from different perspectives and to go beyond stereotypes. Hence the choice to use black, like the colour of a clean blackboard on which to write and take notes on. Its pages get light from the white contrast of writing, since <\/span>everything is clearer on black\u00a0<\/span><\/em>\u2013 as one can read on the cover<\/span>.<\/p>\n The Black Book is also a chance to dispel the negative meaning that is usually attributed to the black colour. Just think about the Sicilian saying <\/span>ti scrivu no libbru niuru<\/span><\/i><\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cI\u2019ll add your name to the black book<\/i>\u201d \u2013 this sentence is jokingly used among friends to say that someone seeks revenge). Or, of course, of the neosymbolism that associates black to elegance and luxury<\/span>. Even the choice of \u201cspecular\u201d binding\u00a0<\/b>from right to left (used by artists like Leonardo da Vinci to emphasize mystery and hide secrets in writings) encourages to \u201creverse\u201d, to dismantle the obvious. Readers and authors are exhorted to avoid giving words, colours and dreams one sole and only meaning<\/span>.<\/p>\n This item is full of meanings and connections. Starting with the title \u2013 with debossed pattern \u2013 which features the symbol of infinity in the word book.<\/i>\u00a0Just like dreams and\u00a0<\/span>Desire<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(topic of the ninth edition of Taobuk) become endless in darkness and silence<\/span>.<\/p>\n TBB\u00a0will be available in the\u00a0<\/span>store<\/a><\/span>\u00a0from July 15th<\/sup>, 2019<\/span>\u00a02019.<\/p>\n On Saturday, June 22nd, <\/span><\/strong>another black thing will be coffee.\u00a0<\/span>Guests of the gala evening, including <\/span>Simone Cristicchi<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Nina Zilli<\/span><\/strong>, who are expected to show up at the\u00a0<\/span>Teatro Antico of Taormina, will be able to taste a coffee cocktail prepared by <\/span>Marco Poidomani<\/span>, the two-times National Champion of Coffee in Good Spirits, as well as coffee-flavoured Moak-Tar\u00ec<\/a> beer<\/span>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A book beyond stereotypes that encourages to give things a different meaning.
