{"id":10007289,"date":"2019-08-26T08:00:46","date_gmt":"2019-08-26T06:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thesignmoak.com\/?p=10007289"},"modified":"2019-11-21T10:15:32","modified_gmt":"2019-11-21T09:15:32","slug":"beck-solofra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesignmoak.com\/en\/beck-solofra\/","title":{"rendered":"Heinz Beck and Giovanni Solofra: St. George Restaurant &#8211; a new star shines in Taormina."},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span lang=\"EN-GB\">A business partnership set up eleven years, ago from which a new star was born<\/span>.<\/h3>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The relationship between <b>Heinz Beck<\/b>, chef patron of the three-starred restaurant \u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"DE\"><a href=\"https:\/\/romecavalieri.com\/it\/la-pergola-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">La Pergola<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0in Rome and his executive chef Giovanni Solofra \u2013 who manages the group of the starred <\/span><span lang=\"DE\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theashbeehotel.it\/st-george-restaurant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">St. George Restaurant<\/span><\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0in Taormina \u2013 goes beyond the professional aspect. They\u2019ve been working side by side for more than eleven years now. In fact, he decided to invest in Taormina and set up the St. George Restaurant within a magical place: the Ashbee Hotel. \u201c<em>Initially, many people advised against starting up a gourmet restaurant within an accommodation facility \u2013 <\/em>the chef admits<em> \u2013 but I obviously acted relying on my positive feeling. A 37-year old chef who spent nearly half of his lifetime in the kitchen<\/span>.<br \/>\n<span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u201c<i>They day I knew I was going to receive the Michelin star<\/i> <\/span><em><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u2013 tells us<\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> Chef Solofra \u2013 <i>I also found out that I was about to become a father. These two lights of my life merged into a perfect bond. I dedicated a new dish to be included in the menu to my daughter Tecla. It was inspired by a famous painting by Keith Haring: a hymn to Love, of any form, of any kind, as long as it is true.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Some dishes included in
