The 2015 edition of Caffè Letterario and Fuori Fuoco, the two contests created by Caffè Moak in coopera- tion with Archinet, with the aim to encourage young
artists and photographers, ended with great success. On Saturday, October 10th, the prize-giving evening of the two events, where art of photography and writing were brought together under a common denominator: coffee. A capti- vating sound, among psychedelic visions, by VeiveCura, opened the curtain; included in the top ten young emergent Italian bands. While the narrative voice of Alessandro Ro- mano carried the audience away into the universe of the awarded narrations. Even during this edition, Moak availed itself of two remarkable panels of judges. The 14th Caffè Letterario edition was led by writer Mauro Covacich, who moved the audience with his way of facing delicate topics, such as maternity and sterility, in his last book “La Sposa” (The Spouse), awarded with the second place of the Strega Prize 2015. Next to him were writers Gianluca Morozzi and Guido Conti, Enza Campino, responsible of the section “word of the bookseller” within Il Sole 24 Ore, and Elena Stancanelli, writer and nationally renowned journalist. Franco Ruta of the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, great friend of well-known writer Antonio Maria Belgiorno from Modica,
whom Modica has been paying homage to in the last five editions, was also invited on the stage. The ten choses stories will be published in the anthology “Stories about coffee”. “Just like writing, even photography – mentioned Master Denis Curti, president of the Fuori Fuoco panel, in his in- tervention – is able to narrate the world and build memory, showing us what we cannot perceive with the eyes”. Next to him an excellent Fuori Fuoco panel of judges: photog- rapher of Contrasto Massimo Siragusa, Ginette Caron (graphic designer and Aiap member), Marco Lentini, Caffè Moak graphic designer, and Tony Gentile (author of the fa- mous picture of Falcone-Borsellino) of the Reuters agency. The portfolios of the winning Fuori Fuoco works will be published on the national review “Il Fotografo” and spread by Caffè Moak through exhibitions and ad campaigns all over the world.
Guests of the evening also Andrea Bartoli and Florinda Saieva of Farm Cultural Park. To celebrate the rela- tionship between Moak and Farm, and the “International Children’s Day”, Best Friends was set up for the occasion, in cooperation with Fatboy: a family of giant poodles to promote a fund-raising collection the creation of a Farm Children’s Museum.
